Transfers and a Miracle

Elder T got transferred to Singapore, and I'm staying one more in Cheras, as you already know 😂 😉 (From our phone call about transfers. Jaxon was sad to lose Elder T but really happy for him. His dad is from Singapore so he really wanted to get the chance to serve there. And Jaxon is super happy about his new companion.) Transfers were pretty awesome, I got Elder Gray and he is a super good dude. He's really good at being humble and complimenting people's strengths. He's got 2 transfers left and he's not quite sure where he wants to go and what he wants to do, but he's considered wrestling at UVU or maybe going to BYU-I. He loves to workout, the man is massive. I'm not quite where I want to be for my fitness test, but we're definitely training for it. We alternate Calisthenics and running every day to help us get ready. The work is good. We have a couple people we've just started teaching that I have a lot of high hopes for. It's crazy because I feel like we talk to so many people every day and have awesome experiences, get so many phone numbers, but very few meet, and even fewer continue to meet and progress. But, I suppose if it was easy, we wouldn't have to go on missions because everyone would join on their own. These last two weeks we've had a guy named Max and his family come (Gideon 16, Marcus 7), Max's co-worker named John 22, and a guy Elder T met on the train named Ahtuck 21. Most of them have only come once, but Max and Marcus made it two weeks in a row. We also taught this lady named Lee (Ruby) and her husband Les at our church building on Sunday, and Ruby and their 3yr-old daughter came to the FHE on Monday. Miracle: While on exchanges, Elder Zaleski and I went to get dinner at a Chinese mixed rice place. For whatever reason, Elder Zaleski didn't feel like eating at the moment, so he sat down at a table and started to do language study while I got in line for food. After I purchased my food and sat down with him, he decided he wanted dinner afterall, so he went and got in line. He got in line next to this guy named Max, and they greeted each other and that was all. Afterwards, while Elder Zaleski and I were eating, Max comes over with his co-worker John and asks if they can sit with us and eat dinner. They were interested in what we were doing in Malaysia and by the end of dinner, both committed to come to church, and Max said he'd bring his sons. It was such a miracle. Challenge: Support within our branch has been rather small. We have a couple of really helpful people, but overall we really need to work on branch unity, and getting people more involved in branch / district activities. Good News: Good news and a challenge is that recently, we've been finding more Chinese people to teach. It's been awesome to start using my language a bit more, but I also feel bad that I can't always understand their questions, and their answers to my questions. Love you, Elder Jaxon Wardle ❤
