Not sure what I'll be doing on Chirstmas, but President moved our P-Day from next Monday to Saturday and we get the whole day off. But, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do all day, a lot of stores and laundry places will be closed. We have dinner with the Kings at 2:00 on Christmas, and maybe we'll get to go to the Wetenkamps for Christmas movie that night, not sure though. I have not received my package yet, but there's a zone activity today, so they might have mail there. I'm not sure about the group email since there's a lot going on today, but I do like to send them. We need to work harder, but the work is good. Sarah and Keith came to church, but that's about it. There was a Christmas music program, and I just wanted to be in the choir the whole time. Singing is so much more fun than just listening. It has been raining a lot more lately, but mostly in the night. I don't really use any rain stuff, I don't mind getting soaked in my sweater and since we have a car we don't need to spend a whole lot of time on foot especially if no one else is outside. Elder Astel has been letting me wear his beanie and I've been super warm since then. We stopped by Zay's house. He wasn't home but we talked to his dad and gave them some photos of them at the Halloween party. His dad said Zay was feeling better and that's why he's not home, but is out and about again. So that's good, but now we've got to get in contact with him again. Carol is good, she didn't really keep any committments from the last time we met, but seemed willing to this next week. Wednesdays seem like they will work better more consistently which is good. We were able to teach Marquita again and we have another lesson with her tonight. I was super excited because we stopped by to visit her on Friday and she related Lehi to David because they both received visions and revelations from the Lord. She also mentioned that she was only familiar with the 66 books in the Bible, but as she prayed before she read the Book of Mormon she felt like God was telling her to open up to the Book of Mormon because it was true! Let's go!! That made me super happy to hear. When people keep the committments we give them, they feel the Spirit so much more abundantly and increase in knowledge and testimony so much faster. I'm so glad Marquita is keeping her committments and I hope all our friends will start doing better at that so they grow even closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ. Aman is done with the school semester and immediately started working a ton. But we have hope that we can schedule something with him soon. Our lesson with Joseph went really well. Joseph has a really solid understanding of what we are teaching him, asks great questions, and provides wonderful insights. He is also super willing to meet and wants to learn. We actually had two lessons with him last week and have another tomorrow. We met a guy named Malik who really believes in Christ, but feels that organized religion is corrupt. However, he believes that he needs to follow Christ's commandments and example and he wants to be baptized. So he asked us if he could be baptized but not join our church. We told him we'd come back and teach more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and let him decide for himself what God wants him to do. A little worried about this one though because he seems to really want to teach us maybe more than he wants to learn, but time will tell. Also taught a guy named Patrick at his doorstep. He believes his wife to be possessed and apparently she drives away the missionaries. But she didn't come to the door so we were able to share some scriptures and pray with him. He said we had helped more than we knew. He didn't want to set up a time to return, but told us to stop by anytime. Challenge: All the Ceres sisters got sick which was super sad. Most of them are starting to feel better, but in their absence we had to man the Christmas Tree Lane booth a lot more and weren't able to do as much contacting in some areas we had wanted to and had to push some contacts to later, but we should catch up soon, and the Ceres sisters are starting to feel better mostly. Good News: We stopped by a man named Wesley who had previously met with the missionaries but decided that quitting coffee was too difficult, so he stopped meeting. But he invited us in and we prayed with him and he said he'd watch the talk we'd sent him earlier, "Worthiness is not flawlessness". We're also going to see him next week. Miracle: I was on Exchange with Elder Peck and we had been talking about wrestling, then we went to visit a friend, but he wasn't home. However, we walked around the corner and someone we'd been trying to contact forever was outside. His son came out with a wrestling sweatshirt and the Dad had cauliflower ear and we instantly bonded over wrestling and got invited to sit down with them in the garage. We weren't able to share a lot, but they are an amazing family, and though busy, want to find a time where we can meet with all of them to share our message.
I need to take more photos, if my companion hadn't found it funny that the member put bibs on us before we ate, I would have had zero.
