Taking Counsel

Super busy day today, so this is going to be a super short email.

This week while reading Jacob 4, this verse stuck out to me.

"Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works."

- Jacob 4:10

I believe many of us find ourselves asking the Lord to make the things we want happen, instead of asking how we can make the things He wants happen. As we seek to take counsel from the Lord instead of counseling Him, He will strengthen us in our ability to do His will. And, in the end, His will will always be far better for us than our will ever was. So next time you pray, ask to know the things God would have you do, then listen, and continue to listen throughout each day, always keeping that prayer in your heart.
