Singapore for Zone Conference

Hey mama! This week was pretty awesome. This was the first week of church that I just got to attend and wasn't in charge of anything, so that was kind of nice. We had 8 nonmembers attend, but only 5 from our teaching pool. We didn't get to do much teaching this week due to Zone Conference, but I definitely had a great experience and have a lot of things I want to start implementing from it. Our Branch President has given us two families to work with so far, but both of them are American families that plan to spend the whole summer in America, so we'll see what we can do, hopefully we'll have some local families to work with too. Zone conference was in Singapore and it was amazing. I had some super amazing Western food that I'd been missing, but it also cost the equivalent of 15 meals in KL, so that was brutal on our poor KL mission funds. But the next time we ate, a member paid for us (6 of us Elders), but she said 我很有钱, so don't worry about it. The meal she bought us was the equivalent of over 30 meals in KL, so it was crazy. Plus, we got a bunch of food given to us during the 3 days we were in Singapore for interviews and Zone conference, and I gained about 5 pounds this week. We did have interviews and I finally met my mission president in person and saw his wife for the first/last time. I believe the next mission president starts July 1st. The package was great, I haven't had milk since I've gotten it, so I'm excited to get some today and eat some Oreos. The Mangos have also been lifesavers, I need to be eating more fruit, but it goes bad quick, so we run out by Thursday and always forget to buy more outside of P-Day. I ended up leaving all the honey and peanut butter in Singapore because I didn't think it would make it through customs and it definitely wouldn't have. One of the missonaries had to throw away his hair product that was way more solid than the honey or peanut butter because it was over 4 oz. But, since the mission office is moving to Malaysia this next transfer, we put it in with the other stuff we had to leave in Singapore, and it'll come with the mission office when it moves. Amy and Ellen are good, we didn't get to teach them both since we were really only in our area Friday-Sunday, but we did teach Amy and her two daughters. They are all committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon this week. Amy's daughters weren't able to make it to church this week though because they have exams today and were doing a lot of homework and studying yesterday, but Amy came, and we have another lesson with her family this Saturday. We're also going to be learning how to make dumplings and eat lunch, so that'll be fun. We will also be having dinner with Ellen's family on Tuesday. Also, I'll probably refer to Ellen as Qiu Lan in the future because that's what I call her. We probably won't Murph every week, but that's not a bad idea. This week our working out really took a hit while we were gone, and because of the fact that we arrived home at 1:00 AM Friday morning, so we didn't workout later that morning because we were too tired. We'll get back to working out this week. We mostly do Calisthenics. We weren't able to meet with Chee Wei because of Zone Conference, so I don't have an update on him. We also didn't teach Brandon, or the Catholic lady. Miracle: Honestly, Zone Conference was amazing and super needed. We learned so many things that are going to benefit our area. Also, on Thursday we had like 40 minutes to go finding with the YSA Elders. We went on mini splits and found 4 people for them to teach in the space of 40 minutes, and taught an additional 2 people who were not interested. It was blowing my mind that we were able to teach so many people in such a short time. The Lord really blessed that YSA area on Thursday. Challenge: We spent most the week out of our area, (we found 4 people to teach for the Singapore missionaries) so we weren't able to teach a lot of our friends that probably really needed it. Also, because of the Hong Kong temple rededication everyone going to church next week will need to have a reccomend, so we can't bring any friends to church. Good News: Elder Zaleski and I are staying in KL which I'm super grateful for. I feel like we've built up a lot of potential in the area, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to see it through another transfer.
Love,
Elder Wardle
