This week has been busy. Singapore is super awesome. The food is amazing and I'm definitely eating too much. The weather is a bit hot but it is consistent, so there's no need to complain, it's just how it is. I love the rain, the issue is when you're soaked and start chafing later on. Overall though, it's beautiful and amazing here.

I don't know a whole lot, I haven't met my companion yet, nor seen my area, but I will later today. These first few days I stayed with the Elders in the Mandarin ward (Stein and Benson) and those in the English YSA (Taylor and Schreeve). I was companions with the YSA Elders, but joined the Mandarin Elders for church.

I flew in early enough my first day to essentially have a normal day, starting with studies and and a couple of administrative things. The mission president was actually in Malaysia so I didn't meet him. He'll be flying to Singapore as I fly to Malaysia, so he called me yesterday to welcome me in case we don't see each other for a while. The only thing he said to me in Chinese was the word "welcome", but it was only a 2 minute call, so that may not be how it always is.

When we first arrived, we were supposed to split up and go through immigration separate without our tags on, but they forgot to tell us that. One of the sisters went first and they didn't want to let her through because she didn't have an invitation/sponsor letter. The guy I talked to thought I was there for officer training with the Air Force and he was just going to let me through, but when I told him that wasn't the case, he asked for my sponsor letter. None of us had sponsor letters, but I showed the guy my mission call and he thought it was awesome that I was learning Chinese and let me go through. They told the first sister that her mission call wasn't an invitation and wouldn't work though. Eventually we all got through, but some of us had a harder time than others. I didn't think the first sister was going to be let in, honestly. When we arrived at the mission office, we didn't really get any training, they basically said, your companions will know what they're doing, so we just went out after we called home to check in the first day.

.... didn't get to finish this

Love ya though,
