Outside the Comfort Zone

Hello! Yes, I am a 2x covid survivor. I feel totally fine now. Tomorrow, I no longer have any Covid restrictions, so we can go out as normal. Elder Astel got a headache one day, so we just went with that being the day he got it, but testing is backed up like a week. The Wetenkamps are doing a lot better. They were able to come to church yesteday, so that was nice. AND we finally get to go to the Wetenkamps for P-day again. We didn't have a zoom lesson with Jesse, but we were able to call him and share a few scriptures. He had a Covid exposure and is quarantining, so he wants to wait until after that. We set up appointments for this week with Marie, Carol, Zay, and Joseph, but we didn't meet any of them this week. We were told that Frederick moved back in with his Ex, so he's not homeless anymore, but we have no idea where he lives. Marquita canceled, she actually had to move back into our area because her daughter got Covid and her Ex-Husband won't take care of her because he doesn't want to get quarantined and miss work. But Marquita had moved to a temporary home as part of a program to get her back on her feet and it doesn't allow for kids. So, she had to move back to take care of her daughter. Also, the missionaries in Modesto were able to teach Nora, Marquita's mom, yesterday. Not totally sure how it went, but since I referred her, I can see their lesson and contact reports for her. So, I know what they taught, but not totally sure how receptive she was. Wesley didn't respond to any texts, he never does. But, we stopped by later this week and he told us to come by on Monday at our usual time. He had read the chapters we asked him to, but didn't remember them, so he said he'd review them again before we come over. Honestly, running out to catch somebody is definitely something outside of my comfort zone, but in that moment it was not uncomfortable at all. For whatever reason I was super excited to see her and really wanted to talk to her even though I'd only seen her once before 3 months prior. We were able to meet with Mary in person this week. She had forgotten to write down her questions, but we taught the Plan of Salvation. She was writing down questions or scriptures like the whole time and wanted to ask her pastor about some of them. She'd never heard of the pre-mortal life, but was vaguely familiar with 3 heavens and said the kingdoms of glory made sense. I think she liked the explanation of Adam and Eve and the need for the Fall, but it went against what she'd been raised to believe so she still has some hesitation. She did say she would pray about it, and continue to study on her own. Hopefully next time we can teach the Restoration in full, and she'll start reading the Book of Mormon, but with her pastor, we never know what she'll say when we show up. Actually this is like the first time we had zero friends at church in a long time. Usually between Sarah and Liam there's at least one. Miracle: Biggest miracle this week may have honestly been that Mary met with us again, and was much more open this time. She's still skeptical, but she is willing to pray and keep meeting so that she can have the full picture and find out for herself. That makes me super happy. Challenge: We were quarantined for most of this week, and I got so mentally exhausted from studying and being home all day, everday. Good News: We are totally out of quarantine starting tomorrow! Though all of our church meetings for next week are virtual, so that's sad. Also, I think I'm going to get to go to Turlock on an exchange this week which will be sweet.
