Monday

P-Day, found out Elder Charles will move to Masai for the rest of the transfer. I'm gonna miss him and the trio vibe.

Tuesday

Had an awesome lesson with Justin today. He wants to get baptized, though he lives super far away and works nonstop until Chinese New Year. But, he's a legend and God will help him out.

Wednesday

The other day Elder Johnny promised Bryan that we would bring cookies so we made some cookies this morning. We didn't have any chocolate chips so we used chocolate oranges for half of them and it was honestly pretty good.

The lesson with Bryan actually went pretty well. We may have dropped a little too much information on him, but we're excited for him to be able to read and pray about the Book of Mormon this week.

We also met this kid named Jackson today who pulled up next to us on his electric scooter and goes, 'Hey where are you from'. He asked if we would be his friend and took us to go around to meet his friends.

Thursday

Yesterday during comp study, I sat down with Elder Johnny and discussed how he has 9 days left. I asked if he thought it would be cool to be exactly obedient for 9 days to have 9 perfect days. At first, he said we were not robots but then we talked about some of the things we could work on and he agreed. Today we had a great start.

Had a lesson with Moon. We didn't get too much across because she lives alone and talks a ton when she sees people, but hopefully she now understands what a prophet is. It was her birthday too, and we were super happy to meet with her especially since her family no longer lives with her. She also fed us so well.

Later we had a lesson with Sophia's family where we taught the restoration. In reality, I held the picture book while Elder Johnny taught in Malay and Iban. The older brother, Randy, was much more attentive in this lesson than he had been in the past and we scheduled his baptism and all the lessons leading up to it. Elder Johnny and I both felt that that miracle came from the Lord and that He was pleased with our increased efforts to be obedient. We also had to run to the elevator and to our apartment to make it in on time, but Elder Johnny wanted that perfect day, and we got in on time!

Friday

Today we saw a lot of miracles. In the morning, we had a lesson with Steven that was a little rocky because the Internet connection was bad, but he seems to understand the Aaronic priesthood pretty well, and we sent him some good resources to read.

Later we met up with Jackson again and played some Uno while we shared about who Christ is. Afterwards, he wanted to go see his friend Lionel and Lionel's grandma invited us to come in. We met with them for a long time, and I got to teach my first fully Chinese lesson in JB. Lionel was awesome and really sounded sincere about praying to know if the things we taught were true. He does have school on Sundays, but he thinks it will start late enough for him to come to church.

After the lesson with Jackson's friend, Lionel, we had to leave to go finding, but Jackson wanted to come with us, so we took him finding. Jackson loved finding, he rode around on his electric scooter and tried to give our pamphlets to everybody, even though he himself is a Buddhist. We told him we had to get going so we could go grab dinner, but this kid said two more houses, so we did two more houses 🤣. In the second house, there was a guy named Lim that seemed decently interested and said we could come back next Friday, so basically this kid brings miracles.

Finally, this is not a specific event today, but the Lord has definitely been working with us. Two days ago, I started working on these 'I Can' statements that help me focus my language study. The day I started was 'I Can' teach God is our loving Heavenly Father. That day I used the very phrases I worked on in a contact with a Chinese lady. Today, I went over how to explain the role of a prophet during language study, and I got to teach that today during our lesson with Lionel and his family. I would not have been able to do so nearly as well had I not studied that very thing this morning. What a miracle!

Saturday

Some grandpa who had seen missionaries 5 hears prior had us meet his 8 year-old granddaughter that he takes care of and wants us to teach her even though he's not Christian, so that's cool. Later, we had dinner with brother Sam and played some ping pong with him too.

Sunday

Church was good. We didn't end up fasting because multiple people brought us food for some reason. Later, brother Sam took us around, and we went to sister Lily's house to help her put up her fan. We're hoping her son gets baptized soon, but we really want the whole family to start coming to church again.

Honestly, it's been a great week! Sorry for the long email.

Love ya,

Elder Jaxon Wardle
