Finding has been great, especially at the time of you writing this email. I think we had 5 or 10 new friends depending on which week this was. We had a lot of lessons almost everyday, but most of them were with people we met that very day, so that was a lot of fun.
The members are awesome, but there aren't really any who just love having us over. It's as though everyone would prefer to remain unbothered which I can understand, but it's rather unfortunate.
I definitely have more opportunities to speak Chinese and I get to give a talk in a couple of weeks here. I'm having a hard time determining what I want my Chinese to look like at the end of my mission. I did not have the ideal mission for learning this language, and I've been trying to come up with a good end goal vision to work towards.
My companion is so awesome. His name is Elder Thatcher, and fun fact, he's a quarter Taiwanese. He's supposed to be a Malay speaking Elder, but since he can't understand anything that's going on in his first area, he started doing some of his language studies in Chinese for the last month. He has 4 siblings: an older brother on a mission in Idaho, 15 yr old brother, 12yr old sister, and a 9yr old sister. He doesn't actually play any sports, but he's supposedly really good at the violin and plays piano each Sunday for church. He's from San Diego, but his dad is in the Navy and works at Camp Pendleton, so he commutes quite a bit for work.
Also, I love the roommates. We've been playing hearts and we have an overall score we keep for the house. So far, we're at 276 for Elder Stosich, 366 for Thatcher, 361 for Tu'ua, and 207 for me. Last night, we decided we'd play until the loser hit 50 points. Elder Stosich shot the moon the first round (which was really embarrassing), but then I shot the moon the second round, so we ended after only two hands which was sick because we got to go to bed early.
Me and my house are praying for Emilee:)
Love y'all,
Elder Jaxon Wardle
