Lack of Commitment/Dropping Friends

The first half of the month was crazy fast, these last two weeks slowed down a little I feel like. But it is crazy to think tomorrow is February. Marie rescheduled for tonight, we dropped Zay. We have a lesson with Joseph tomorrow and the other Elders had a short lesson with him last week and scheduled another lesson for Tuesday. We did meet with Carol and it was an awesome lesson. We really explained baptism and the sacrament and it seemed like she really understood why it was so important. Then, John Wetenkamp invited her to sit with him and his wife, Mary, and Carol said she'd love to. Then, she didn't come to church. š So, we have our meeting this week and may drop her depending on how it goes. Mary was taught while I was on exchange (I was sad about that). She is still meeting with us and apparently gave them snacks last time they came over. So, she's really kind but still is unsure. She said she'd read some of the Book of Mormon and pray about it though. Elder Johnstone and Elder Astel didn't tell me about any crazy questions this time. Because of Covid, Wesley has had to work extra to cover those who can't come in since they're sick. So, we've had to keep rescheduling with him. Hopefully, more people can make it to work and he'll have more time off next week. The exchange in Turlock was good. It felt crazy short though. It was also funny because it's the YSA and we had a lesson scheduled in Ceres for a recent convert. So I went on exchange to Turlock just to come back and teach the YSA members who lived in Ceres. I'm not sure why I don't talk about exchanges as much. They're still eye opening and honestly more productive and fun. Marquita called us out of no where and scheduled a lesson with us for tonight. We gave her a chapter to read to prepare. Her mother, Nora, is actually super open. The other Elders have taught her a few times and she's excited to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Their biggest issue is finding a male that can join them in their lessons at her house. They had to cancel the last lesson because of it. Church was back in person this week. Sarah and Keith came, but only for sacrament. We actually lead a social media trainning for the ward since it was the fifth Sunday. They're the only ones we're teaching that came which is sad because we had four people tell us they were going to come the day before. We also had a super awesome lesson with Sarah and Keith Saturday and they're deciding on a date to quit smoking next week. They want to do a program to stop smoking that we actually offer as missionaries. It's honestly a super cool program, I'm excited to see them do it. I haven't had a chance to teach Ling in Chinese again. Apparently her husband was being really pushy to her and she doesn't want to meet anymore. But I did text her afterwards to let her know we were available to answer any questions if she ever had any in the future, so hopefully she reaches out. Miracle:
We were actually doing our planning for the week and we were going to stop teaching Marquita because we couldn't get in contact with her. Not only that, but she had also been moving in and out of the area. Then while we were planning for the week and in the process of deciding to stop teaching her, she called us, said she'd been thinking about us, and wanted to meet on Monday. Let's Go! Challenge: We had a lot of friends not keeping commitments this week, so we dropped a ton of them. Super sad, but hopefully they'll be more ready in the future and we'll have time to find and teach people who have already been prepared by the Lord:)
Good News: Our bishop had moved away in December, and we finally got a new bishopric. The ward is also working on their ward mission plan and trying hard to find ways to help us in getting them more members!
