Hello! Church was really good this week with the Hong Kong temple dedication but it was sad that we couldn't bring all of our friends. We went to the first of three sessions. The first one, most people, including Elder Gong, spoke in English. In the second session I was told that everyone, including Elder Gong spoke in Chinese. All the songs and prayers were in Cantonese. During zone conference last week, we talked a lot about personal study and how to make it more meaningful. Something that was brought up a lot was not studying a certain amount of material, but for a certain amount of time. This allows for pondering and receiving more revelation than trying to 'get through' a certain number of chapters. So, I've been trying to consider more carefully the things I read and ponder them instead of trying to just cram as much knowledge and information as I can. We were able to meet with one of the families our branch president wanted us to visit, and they came to church yesterday, but they will be leaving to America this week. The other family we called and they didn't want us to come over. There's another local family we tried to visit, but only the grandma was home and she's not a member. The mother didn't really want us to come back but the kids who are both around 18 want to have us over sometime, so we'll see what happens. We were able to have a lesson with all the Chinese ladies, we mostly talked about eternal families and the Family a proclamation to the world. All their kids are having exams these next few weeks though, so they're not sure if they want to meet which is kind of sad. Amy definitely kept her commitments to read, but we weren't able to meet with the daughters again, so we're not sure about them. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to teach, Chee Wei, or Brandon thus week. I'm so happy to hear about Emilee's Patriarchal Blessing, that's so amazing! Miracle: We met this lady who was limping to the hospital on an injured leg, and she was so awesome. We ended up saying a prayer for her and her leg and then continued to our meeting as she got on a bus. The next day, she calls us and says, although she is Hindu and believes in many gods, she believed Jesus sent us to her and she was healed by our prayer. She lives too far from us, but she said she would be happy to allow the other Elders to come teach her. Challenge: Lots of people canceled this week and many people we meet are going to be having exams soon, so they aren't willing to make time to meet. Good news: I got a bunch of Language Study materials that I'm excited to start using because they're really focused on the lessons from PMG. Elder Jaxon Wardle
