General Conference and new High School friends

Hey mama,

We are supposed to watch General Conference the week after, but for some reason, our branch president had us do it this week, so I've watched the Saturday sessions, but none of Sunday.

This week we didn't get tons of lessons unfortunately. We made a few new friends all at once through some highschoolers I'd met on the train in the past. I didn't totally remember them, but they looked familiar and recognized me. We ended up inviting them to eat lunch with us the next day, and we were able to share a message about Christ with them.

We haven't been able to teach Max's family or Les this week but both came to watch General Conference which was awesome.

FHE wasn't too bad. There are some sister missionaries living in PJ that are in-charge of district YSA stuff and they've been micromanaging the branches instead of focusing on just district stuff which has been very frustrating. It also bothers a lot of our branch leadership and leads to conflicting events and time changes, so our attendance decreased this week because they changed our activity to Thursday so that they could come, it was pretty dumb. We kind of told them off a little, as have some of the other branches which makes me feel bad, but they are not helping themselves. *sigh* Anyway, hopefully it's all settled now.

The YSA convention is sick, though we will not be going. All the YSA in the whole mission are going to a resort in East Malaysia for four days, the youth will have something similar in December.

We didn't end up meeting with the guy from the Blitz.

Miracle:

I ran into two people that I had met on the train in the past and though they didn't want to meet the first time, the second time I met them, they agreed to meet with us for lunch, and they brought friends. It was sick!

Challenge:

Our mission has been shifting its focus to members, meaning finding through members, and getting members to return to church since Covid has ended. I love the idea, but it's been really hard to set things up with our members.
