Christmas Tree Lane

Happy December! I am doing very well. I did get my package and it is wonderful. Elder Astel got a technical certification in machining. So basically he programs machines to repeatedly do some process. Elder Astel did well on his first district council and I think he'll keep getting better. We actually haven't been able to contact Zay at all this week, I'm not sure why. Gumaro is super bipolar in his responses to missionaries. He'll be interested and then say stop all meetings. It's super weird. We haven't met with him yet, but we're going to stop by tonight.

We had Sarah, Keith, and Liam at church. Marquita cancelled (fell asleep early and didn't answer the door) which was super sad because we brought a member. Then she wouldn't respond to us when we tried to reschedule, but we knew she was on house arrest, so we stopped by anyway. We didn't have a member with us, so we couldn't teach her in person, but we told her we would send her a zoom link and teach her as soon as we got back to our apartment. It was a good lesson and we meet with her again tomorrow. The new finding time rules has made it way more convenient for lessons. We haven't talked to that guy on the street about the bible study yet, but it's because we've been busy with some Christmas events. There's something called Christmas Tree lane in Ceres where a block of houses really go off for Christmas and now they do an opening parade and there are tons of people who walk the neighborhood. One of the members lives next to it and we set up a booth and play nativity videos and give out pictures, candy-canes, pass-along cards, and pamphlets. It's been super fun and successful, though a lot of people are from out of town. Also, it's kinda cold. Good News: Christmas tree lane has begun and we get to see so many people! Also, I finally fit into my blue suit. Not quite as well as I would like to, I probably shouldn't run or squat with it on, but for typical suit activity it fits again. Miracle: We had like 5 members stop by and drop off food. They are few in number but they take care of us so well. We ran out of milk this week and I was devastated, but a member dropped off two gallons of whole milk the next day. I was so happy. However, this may undo the good news portion of being able to fit into my suit. Challenge: We had so many people cancel this week and a lot are leaving town for the holidays. Love you all, Elder Wardle
