A Lesson in Chinese

Hello!

I'm doing well, not sick at all anymore. Elder Astel only got a slight headache one day and never experienced any other symptons. All the sisters in Ceres got Covid and are currently quarantining. Most of the mission was sick last week.

I still do some Chinese training calls twice a week for about 30 minutes, we usually chat in Chinese one day and I teach the other day.

Marie canceled, rescheduled again for tomorrow. Zay and Joseph also rescheduled, both to tonight, so hopefully those go through. No news from Aman

We had a lesson with Carol and really emphasized the Holy Ghost and answered some questions she had about the Plan of Salvation. Our meeting with Wesley was really good. Aparrently, he had been close to baptism before, but he couldn't give up coffee, so he doesn't want members to come because he doesn't want to disappoint a lot of people if can't stop drinking it. He did cancel for this Monday though, so we'll see what happens.

Honestly, we haven't been able to contact Marquita at all this week. The other Elders put in a teaching for Nora but didn't fill out a description, so I have no idea how it went.

I was actually on exchange in Turlock when we had our lesson with Mary this week, but she actually told them she'd gotten sick and wanted to meet next week, so we plan to meet on Thursday.

Not sure if anyone came to church, it was a zoom stake conference. We invited Sarah and Carol, but we haven't heard from either of them about the thoughts they had. Liam doesn't have a phone, and he lives at a special living home, so he couldn't watch it. I don't know if they consider Liam accountable, and he doesn't want to meet with the missionaries, but he comes to church almost every week.

Miracle:

The Patterson sisters had a lesson with a member who happens to have a wife that doesn't really speak English and the husband speaks zero Chinese, so I'm not sure how that happened. But, they invited me to help them teach the Restoration. It was awesome, but I need to work on my Chinese a lot. Also, a little weird because there were 6 people on the call, but only two of us spoke Chinese, so everyone just watched us talk for an hour. 😆

Goodnews:

We no longer have Covid! A lot of the mission got it recently, but now we're all basically immune for at least the next 90 days:)
