Hey mama,

I haven't heard anything from Congressman Owens, but I saw both the letters from Senators Romney and Lee. I'll have to go by the church later today and check for any notifications from the academies themselves. (*Update received later in the evening: Also, I found out Congressman Burgess Owens nominated me for both academies. It showed up in my application portal. Dodmerb is now the only thing remaining.)

I think Elder Charles came because the other three are leaving. We also had to do a mid-transfer because one of the missionaries was essentially deported from both countries so he got sent home a month early, and someone was missing a companion after that. (Sometimes missionaries get deported because they hop back and forth from Singapore to Malaysia too many times and they aren't allowed back to either country.)

Elder Charles is from Bintulu, the same hometown as Elder Johnny. They were actually friends before the mission and attended the same building, though different branches. They are both Iban, and speak Iban and Malay. Elder Charles and I may end up double covering JB and Masai, the Malay branch, next transfer.

President Tolman is pretty relaxed. He's definitely not the kind of person that would give a serious reprimand. Rather he would try to make a joke and tell you in a not so direct way that you should be following a rule.

I haven't gotten the package yet. The mission home is the President's house, but the Mission office is a separate church building in PJ.

I'm still coughing a bit, but otherwise I've gotten over my sickness.

We had the baptism for Stephen and Hyrum Saturday. We actually combined with Masai, so there were actually 4 baptisms. Hyrum's dad baptized him, I baptized Stephen, and Elder Johnny baptized the two from the Masai branch because he helped the other Elders teach both of them in Iban.

The family that we met the other day ended up telling their daughters that we weren't allowed to come over which was really sad, but one of the daughters texted us and asked for the address for the church and said she'll try to visit sometime. And yes, we were pulling up on bikes.

Miracle:

We had 4 baptisms this Saturday!

Challenge:

We didn't actually find many people to teach this week. We did a fair amount of finding and got a lot of numbers, but only one lesson with a new person actually happened.

Good news:

I'm in a trio now, and my companions are awesome. Except they both speak in a language I don't understand, but it's been fun to have a trio again.

Love,

Elder Wardle
